The Continuing Covidian Madness
There is no greater threat facing the true church of Christ at this moment than the irrationalism that now controls our entire culture.
- John W. Robbins, “The Trinity Manifesto”
After nearly two years of continuous madness, the pandemic of Covid irrationalism and totalitarianism has yet to run its course. For that matter, the worse the scientific case gets – let alone the Biblical case – for vaccine mandates and other impositions on liberty, the more strident the calls for more stringent measures become from the true believers in the Covidian cult.
Even those from who we have a right to expect rational thought on matters Covid can’t get it right. Here, I’m talking specifically about the Supreme Court’s ruling last week on the Biden regime’s vaccine mandates. The Court struck down as unconstitutional – of course, the Court is nowhere given the power to determine whether a law is constitutional or not, this is a usurped power, but that is another matter that I will not address today – the mandate requiring all employers with 100 or more employees to force their workforces to be vaccinated or face ruinous fines. On the other hand, the Court found in favor of the mandate directed at health care professions, stating that any medical facility that accepts federal Medicare and Medicaid dollars must require all employees to be vaccinated.
In his article “Supreme Court Delivers Schizophrenic Ruling,” Paul Craig Roberts noted, “What we have is the complete separation of the law from justice and the violation of the US Constitution that requires equal treatment under the law. The Justices have, again, delivered unequal treatment.”
In reflecting on this “schizophrenic ruling,” it seems to me that the Covid madness exhibited from so many corners, including the Supreme Court, is to a substantial degree a reflection of the larger trend toward irrationalism in the West which John Robbins identified in “The Trinity Manifesto” over forty years ago in 1978.
One can see this irrationalism exhibited among the Covidian cultists by their steadfast refusal to pay attention to the scientific evidence they claim to love. For years, Christians have been subjected to insults from the likes of Bill Nye and other science gurus who falsely claim Christians are “science deniers” who inconsistently reject science while enjoying the benefits – things such as electricity, modern medicine, air conditioning – brought about by science.
When charged with being “science deniers,” it’s important for Christians to ask, “what do you mean by that?” If by “science denier,” Bill Nye and others mean that Christianity rejects the notion that science furnishes us with truth, then, yes, I’ll freely admit to being a “science denier” in that sense. The Bible alone furnishes us with knowledge, which is defined as justified true belief. On the other hand, if by “science denier” the Bill Nyes of the world mean that Christians are obligated by the Scriptures to reject science as useful, then they are very much mistaken. Just because all scientific laws are false does not mean that at the same time they cannot be useful for carrying out God’s command to “fill the earth and subdue it.” It is possible for something to be false and at the same time useful.
I bring up the issue of science because while it is those who claim to trust in science who are some of the biggest pushers of Covid authoritarianism, the science they claim to love does not support their terrifying solutions.
Let’s take the vaccine mandates that are so popular with the Covidians. They would have you believe that the recent surges in Covid cases, if indeed there are surges in Covid cases, is an example of the “pandemic of the unvaccinated.” Yet the scientific data – remember, we’re talking here about people who claim to “follow the science” as opposed to “science-denying” Christians – consistently shows this relationship between mass vaccination programs and the incidence of Covid: the more vaccinated the country, the higher the frequency of Covid among its citizens.
Here are some examples of what I mean by “the more vaccinated the country, the more Covid.
- “COVID surges in one of world’s most vaccinated nations”
- “Ireland: Two Counties With 99.7% And 98%+ ‘Fully Vaccinated’ See Massive Covid ‘Outbreaks’”
- “Portugal returns to COVID restrictions despite high jab rate”
- “Gibraltar Cancels Christmas Despite Entire Population Being Vaccinated”
Many more such examples can be found, but these should suffice to establish the point that vaccines not only fail to keep people from getting Covid but may well make them more susceptible to it.
Of course, while Christians do not base their opposition to vaccine mandates on things such as infection rates to determine, citing these stories is useful in at least two ways. First, it is a powerful ad hominem argument against vaccine fanatics. An ad hominem argument is where you take your opponent’s position and show that he is drawing incorrect conclusions from it. Americans were told by Joe Biden and many others that if you get vaccinated, you won’t get Covid and you won’t spread Covid. Yet there are now plenty of examples where the opposite holds true. It seems that the Covid shots are not the silver bullets we were told.
Just yesterday, The Salt Lake Tribune published one of the most unhinged pro-vaccine editorials to date. In the op-ed “Utah leaders have surrendered to COVID pandemic,” the Editorial Board writes,
Were Utah a truly civilized place, the governor’s next move would be to find a way to mandate the kind of mass vaccination campaign we should have launched a year ago, going as far as to deploy the National Guard to ensure that people without proof of vaccination would not be allowed, well, anywhere.
In essence, the Covid totalitarians at the Salt Lake Tribune want to employ the military to treat unvaxxed Utahans as if they were lepers. This is what they call “civilized.”
Another bit of “science denial” by the vax mandaters is their longstanding refusal to acknowledge natural immunity, one of the most basic concepts in immunology. In September 2021, the Times of Israel reported on a study showing the Delta variant was “27 times more likely to break through Pfizer protection from January-February and cause symptoms than it was to penetrate natural immunity from the same period.” That is to say, natural immunity is 27 times better than the Pfizer jab.
Then there are the vaccine side effects, which by all accounts are pretty nasty. Yet those who push for vaccine mandates brush them off as if they were nothing. Writer Steve Kirsch recently published a story titled “Bhakdi/Burkhardt pathology results show 93% of people who died after being vaccinated were killed by the vaccine.” The study was carried by two research scientists from Germany and given positive remarks from a number of knowledgeable individuals. This is not to say the study is peer-reviewed. Given the current climate, it may well be that such a study could never be published by any scientific journal. But the individuals who ran it seem to have sound academic credentials. Further, it corroborates many of the news reports we’ve all seen of seemingly healthy people who dropped dead after taking the jab.
Still further, the Covidians exhibit “science denialism” in their almost maniacal attempts to deny at-home treatments to those suffering from Covid. In my own family, two people tested positive for Covid last year, but in neither case were they offered any kind of treatment. It was just, “go home and try to get better.” It’s almost as if those controlling the treatment protocols want people to get sick enough that they have to go to the hospital.
For while there are strong indications that both HCQ and Ivermectin are safe, cheap, and effective drugs for treating Covid, the medical establishment and the legacy media have worked overtime to disparage these drugs and anyone who uses them. A friend of mine who ordered HCQ was forced by a pharmacy to read a long disclaimer on how this drug was not recommended for treatment for Covid. In his case, at least he was able to get his prescription filled. There are many stories out there of people who have had their prescriptions for HCQ and Ivermectin denied by pharmacies.
There are disturbing accounts of what is being called doctor hunting as well. Doctor hunting is where physicians who have prescribed HCQ and Ivermectin for their patients, or who have spoken out against the official messaging of the AMA or CDC, are being persecuted and threatened with losing their medical licenses for doing so. See, for example, here and here. This use of drugs to treat new maladies as they come up is called “off label use” of medications and is something that physicians historically have been encouraged to do using their own best judgment. But in the Covid era, it’s all about toeing the line or else!
Bottom line, the Covidians, who claim to love science, have at many points failed to take their own medicine. For while the scientific evidence increasingly supports the limited effectiveness of the Covid vaccines and the perception that they are quite dangerous, the Covidian crowd can’t get enough of them. It would be one thing if they were content to take the jabs and leave the rest of us alone. But they are not content to do so. Very clearly, some of the fanatical jabbers – the editorial board of the Salt Lake Tribune for starters - want to call in the military to lock you in your home. And they are not alone.
